The tie rods are equipped with screw threads and lock nuts. Operators simply need to turn the screw thread; when the rod end touches the internally preset "length indicator block," the length has been adjusted correctly, eliminating the need for repeated measurements. It is a crucial component for maintaining the lateral stability of the bridge. Two tie rods are required for each truss section, installed in a cross configuration. Only when the tie rod length is accurate and the lock nuts are fully tightened can it effectively resist lateral wind forces and prevent the bridge from bending laterally.
